| Sthpt Under 9 Blue's win the Banora Point Carnival
A huge congratulations to Andrew Clarke's Under 9 Blue side for winning the Banora Point Carnival on Sunday.
The boys did Southport proud in going through the day undefeated. Well done to everyone concerned.

" 16 U9 teams turned up for the carnival, we played in group A with 5 other teams. We played 5 games, won 4 and had a 0-0 draw in the other. We topped our group with 17 points and headed for the semi final against Palm Beach. We won the semi 4-0 which put us up against another Palm Beach team in the grand final. We played two 8 minute halves with the score board still showing 0-0 at full time. The officials called for extra time (another 8 minutes) or 'golden goal' rule. Within 2 minutes of extra time our striker Zac Wilkes slotted one in the back of the net to give Southport Blue victory for the day. Congratulations to all the boys on a brilliant effort and thanks to all of the parents and grandparents for their support."
